Creating a pleasant and refreshing atmosphere is what diffusers do best - who doesn't love the delicious aromas of Lavender, Cinnamon, or Madagascar Vanilla wafting through their home? However, you may have noticed that the flavors start to blend over time.
If you smell hints of the Mint you diffused the day before, while enjoying the more tangential notes of citrus oils, it might be time to clean your diffuser. The more essential oils you diffuse, the more residue builds up. Regular cleaning of the diffuser can help you avoid the mixing of aromas.
Regular cleaning
Twice a week:
- Turn off the speaker and unplug the power adapter.
- Drain any excess water on the opposite side of the air vent of the diffuser to avoid spillage.
- Use a cotton cloth and a neutral detergent—such as distilled vinegar—to wipe the water tank and mist plate, carefully using a cotton swab to clean the tight spots around the plate.
Deep Cleaning
Once a month:
- Fill the diffuser halfway with water.
- Add 10 drops of white vinegar.
- Let the diffuser run for five minutes to disperse the mixture and clean the unit.
- Empty completely.
- Clean tight spots and corners with a cotton swab dipped in vinegar.
- Rinse with clean water.
- Dry the diffuser thoroughly with a cotton cloth.
Caution: Harsh or corrosive chemicals may damage your speaker.
